Relaxing Kind of Weekend

Hello!  I did not have lots of plans for this weekend so I was able to read, watch Outlander and create some cards!{Yup, my laundry is still waiting to be done...later, later!}

The Male Room's current challenge is to use letters or numbers on our projects. My Favorite Things recently showed several ways to make shaker cards and that inspired my card. A super simple layout with masculine papers and colors and I am pleased with the results!

And the ladies from Cards 4 Guyz came up with another fun challenge....Challenge # 66 Exotic/Jungle Wildlife

I used an Inky Antics image and colored it with copic markers. What a sweet duo- the hippo and the bird....well- and the stamp and copics too!

Try Stamping on Tuesday has another sketch for us to use:

I do not usually combine challenges but Cards in Envy's challenge is Child's Play -so I decided to use the Penny Black stamp for both challenges.

And I always enjoy the theme at Words to Scrap By and April's theme is The Earth has Music. I combined a few stamps to create the creating to go with the adorable elephant by Avery Elle.  I have a special place in my heart for elephants- as does my niece, Tessa.
So- this one is made with Tessa in my thoughts! She is pure joy to me!

OWH's mid month throwdown is stitching.  So- this is kind of a cheat- but I adore the dies with the stitched edges....love the little extra detail.  And the foam finger is on an Action Wobble--so fun!

I have another card to share today! It is for the Super Hero challenge at http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/.

I am not sure if I mentioned that I love Sugar Pea Designs stamps and dies and Wendy and the DT....well- they like me too--lol! I won a $100 gift card for their birthday celebration- oh my- I was in heaven. You will be seeing creations with their stamps over the next few weeks- here is a picture of the huge amount of goodies I selected with my prize:
The stamp I used for this card is a Sugar Pea Designs set I purchased a while back and boy is this a great set! The image is adorable and there are a lot of sentiments you can create.  I love stamps for the guys!
I kept the layout simple and added NO embellishments- just let the image shine! And speaking of shine- can you see the clear glaze (Sakura pen) on his glasses and lightening bolt?  I love this pen- gives a nice shine but dries super fast and the pen makes application in tiny spots a breeze!
Have a wonderful week-- and how about creating a card?
Diane
Hello, I have a few cards to share. I am a devotee of the OWH challenges and I am a bit behind.
My first card is for the monthly ODBD challenge and this month we are to make masculine cards. Cards for Fathers Day are due to OWH by the end of this month so I am in the masculine mind set.

I combined several stamps from Avery Elle's 'The Man' set to create the focal sentiment.

I went in a feminine direction and tried out some IndigoBlu leafing flakes- oh so pretty in real life- not easy to photograh! I have 2 jars of flakes. One container is full of flakes in a variety of colors: copper, silver, blue, & green but mostly gold and the other is silver, silver and  just silver! Gorgeous!

I tried using OWH sketch #250 but I just could not find a way to put the bottom strip across my circle-- it cut off the body of the CTMH stamp of a celebrating/dancing gal in unpleasant ways no matter how I positioned it!

OWH Sketch 250

Try Stampin on Tuesday (Trystampinontuesday.blogspot.comalso posted a sketch- and oh no- that dreaded bottom strip again- LOL.  I was more successful with this strip! The silver leafing is stunning in person! Different from heat embossing-which I struggle with- especially on solid images- so the flakes make me happy!

The Paper Players #238 and Operation Write Home

Hello!
I often plan to play along with the challenges at The Paper Players...and today I was successful! I chose the diagonal option of yellow-sequins-polka dots for my card and a super sweet Mo Manning digital image. Go check out the fun at  http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/

And even though it is April 1st-- I wanted to join in on the Mid Month Throwdown at OWH. http://operationwritehome.org/march-mid-month-throwdown-red-white-and-blue/
Our challenge is to use red, white and blue on a card. I like to make patriotic cards-but I also like to use the colors on other cards. And who can resist this cute little puppy by Purple Onion Designs?  I love to watch Therese ( https://lostinpaper.wordpress.com/) create her cards and I adore the Purple Onion stamps she often uses. The pooch was super quick to color with Copics and I love the simplicity of my card.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the week,
Diane
